The Phillies vs. Chicago White Sox game has been postponed today due to inclement weather

The White Sox announced Monday that the game between the Chicago White Sox and Phillies on Monday night has been postponed due to forecasts of high winds and freezing temperatures.

To make up for Monday’s postponement, the Phillies and White Sox will play a doubleheader on Tuesday. Game 1 will start at 4:10 PM ET and Game 2 will start 30-45 minutes after the end of Game 1 (but no earlier than 7:10 PM ET).

The Phillies announced Monday that right-hander Zach Wheeler will start Game 1 of the doubleheader, and left-hander Billy Walter will start Game 2. The White Sox will start Lance Lane in Game 1 and Lucas Giolito in Game 2. They’ll need right-hander Taijuan Walker to start Wednesday’s game in Chicago, either they’ll need an extra start for Saturday’s game against the Rockies in Philadelphia, or they’ll need to use their opener.

The Phillies and White Sox have a record of 6-10, and are looking for some positive momentum. The Phillies take on the Reds in a four-game weekend series in Cincinnati. The White Sox have lost four of their last five games against the Orioles and Twins.

Chicago was hit by light snowfalls and high winds on Monday. Temperatures were in the mid-30s on Monday, but are expected to rise by the time of the game on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach the 50s.
