Samsung’s One UI 6 beta is not ready to launch yet

Samsung has launched its beta program for One UI 6, its version of Android based on Android 14. The main features of this next review are a simplified design and more customization options.

On the design front, “many elements have been modified to give a more modern look and feel,” according to a press release from Samsung. This includes a new default font and new emojis that you can use from the Samsung keyboard. The company has also updated the look of the Quick Panel so that you can easily access frequently used features.

As for customization, One UI 6 will let you choose specific lock screens associated with certain modes and actions, much like what you can do with iPhone lock screens and focus modes.

Unfortunately, the One UI 6 beta will only be available on the Galaxy S23 lineup to start — if you’re about to pick up one of Samsung’s latest foldable devices, you’re out of luck right now. But if you have an S23 and are in the US, Germany or South Korea, you can check out the One UI 6 beta starting Thursday.
