Before joining Texas A&M, Fisher coached at Florida State from 2010-17 and won the 2013 BCS National Championship, its final title game. Fisher also led FSU to its inaugural College Football Playoff in 2014.

He finished 83-23 with the Seminoles. Overall, Fisher is 127-48 as a head coach.
