Nothing's Phone 2A will launch on March 5 but in a limited release in the US

The launch date of the upcoming 2A phone on March 5 has not yet been announced New video posted today, and confirmed that it will be available in the US as part of a “Developer Program” rather than an official, widespread release. No specifications, images or pricing for the device have been revealed – so we'll have to wait for the full announcement next month when we'll also get full details of Nothing's developer program. The event will take place at 11:30 AM GMT (6:30 AM ET). The company confirmed X.

The developer program sounds like a release approach similar to the approach Nothing took with its original Phone 1, which came to the US as part of a “Beta Membership” that saw interested customers pay $299 to “test” the phone. In contrast, the Phone 2 last year received a more official release in the United States. No carrier sold it directly and it wasn't certified to work on Verizon, but it was fully compatible with both T-Mobile and AT&T.

There's nothing that hasn't explicitly confirmed that the Phone 2A will be a less expensive alternative to the Phone 2, but it heavily implies that. Today's video contains a key question about how the company plans to “Make this phone cheaper“Only for Nothing CEO Carl Pei to sheepishly refuse to confirm any details about pricing.

Although it doesn't show the official design of the phone, today's video includes concept drawings of the 2A which line up with Russell's leak.

Updated February 13, 5:29 a.m. ET: Updated with additional details from the Nothing video and launch start time at 11:30 AM GMT.
