Prince Harry skipped his father, King Charles III’s lunch to celebrate his son Archie’s birthday in California on Saturday, but the royal’s grandson was there in spirit.
The newly crowned monarch reportedly raised a toast to exiled grandson Prince Archie to wish him a happy fourth birthday “wherever he may be”.
Charles made a touching tribute at a private family gathering on Coronation Day Saturday after Harry, 38, had already fled home to California to celebrate Archie’s birthday, according to sources. he told the Daily Mail.
The newspaper’s source said Harry had been invited to the family lunch – and his father, the 74-year-old king, appeared to be “really disappointed he didn’t stay”.

He then roasted “those who weren’t there,” an apparent reference to include his exiled son and family, according to the outlet.
He then reportedly chose young Archie, wishing him a happy birthday “wherever he is”.
