Kalki 2898m sees 100-piece increase in local collections

The recently released film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is close to crossing Rs 1000 crore at the global box office.

On the tenth day of its release, the film witnessed a 106 percent increase in its collection, earning Rs 34.45 crore at the domestic box office. In the Telugu region, it earned Rs 11 crore.

The film also witnessed a shift in the box office trend, with the Telugu film’s revenue declining while the Hindi film grossed Rs 18.5 crore, according to industry watcher Sacnilk.

In India, the film, which stars cinema giants like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, is racing towards a Rs 1,000 crore mark.

Its net collections in India now stand at Rs 466 crore, while its global collections stand at Rs 709 crore.

The occupancy rate for Telugu morning 3D shows is 32.62% compared to Hindi 21.79%. As for the Telugu night 3D shows, the occupancy rate is 74.77% while that of Hindi is 58.80%.

The film continues its successful run at the box office despite the re-release of ‘Kill’, which managed to earn Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day.

Kalki 2898 has surpassed several films at the box office in ten days, including Pathan, Salaar, Saaho, Dangal and Baahubali.

The company is next targeting Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, which has grossed Rs 525 crore in the country.

Given its current performance, Kalki 2898M is expected to overtake Gadar 2 in 3-4 days.
