Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny It dug in $24 million at the box office on Friday for a projected weekend debut in the $60 million range. This would place the opening at the low end of the projections.

Disney and Lucasfilm’s long-delayed finale and fifth installment of the action-adventure series will easily top the long domestic box office charts for the Fourth of July weekend. The filmmakers are still expecting a debut close to $65 million, but a B+ CinemaScore and lackluster reviews may prevent word of mouth. An 88 percent positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is a bright spot.
The Indiana Jones The film series once again features Harrison Ford as the swashbuckling archaeologist. The 80-year-old actor stars alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethan Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen in the James Mangold-directed film. The film is a sequel to 2008 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal SkullIt posted a $100 million three-day debut 15 years ago.
Keeping alive the ongoing Nazi theme of the film series, Dial of Destiny’The plot revolves around an ancient device being chased by Jones and the villain played by Mikkelsen.
