Indian singer KK dies at 53

Famous Indian singer KK has passed away at the age of 53.

The beloved songwriter, whose full name is Krishnakumar Kunath, died in Kolkata, India, on Tuesday after collapsing hours after his concert, Times of India reports.

KK was in town for two days of concerts and started feeling ill during a Tuesday night performance in front of a thousand attendees.

His kit lasted for about an hour, after which he was said to have collapsed in his hotel room, local news outlets mentioned.

The singer – who boasted nearly 300,000 followers on instagram He was then taken to the hospital, but paramedics were unable to save him. According to the outlet, KK eventually suffered a heart attack.

The singer was famous for his versatility on stage. He has recorded and performed popular songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali – contributing to his ever growing fan base.

After news of his tragic death emerged, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a moving tribute on Twitter.

“Sad for the untimely death of famous singer Krishnakumar Kunath, better known as KK,” chirp.

His songs reflected a wide range of emotions and also struck a chord in people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs.

KK’s manager, Shubham Bhatt, rushed to Instagram to share the photo With KK and other members of his cast, he wrote, “The most memorable and best years of my life. Speechless.”

KK put his name on the map after the release of his debut single album “Pal” in 1999.

He then got his first Bollywood role with the song “Tadap Tadap Ke” from the hit 1999 movie, “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.

His other famous songs include “Tune Maari Entriyaan” and “Sach Keh Raha Hai” from the movie “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein”.

KK has left behind his wife and two children, who are scheduled to travel to Kolkata on Wednesday, according to Indian Express.
