Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster for PS5 in development

Here’s a head scratcher for Sunday evening: Sony is said to be re-mastering it Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5. Claim is made via the site MP1ST, citing multiple sources, and more knowledgeable online figures have come out publicly to say the project is real. Some even say They saw it for themselves. This seems really real, and VGC Sources confirm the rumours.

The Remaster was supposedly designed to bring the original PS4 game closer to the Horizon Forbidden West sequel. Along with the usual graphic improvements – apparently, they are so good that it is unclear whether they will be thrown as a rework or a remake – access options designed for Aloy’s second adventure will be brought to the first game. There will also be some quality of life improvements, updated character models, a better lighting system, improved materials, and upgraded animations.

The site says the Horizon Zero Dawn remake/remake isn’t the only thing Guerrilla Games has in the works. We also have the online multiplayer game Horizon for PS5 and PC to look forward to, which could feature co-op. “Sources said Sony was keen to include collaboration in the game’s sequel, Forbidden West, but Guerrilla decided to save the feature for a future project, which they thought would be either a standalone online show, or Horizon 3,” VGC said.

Sony has developed a habit of remastering and remaking some of its titles in recent years, with a recent example Our Last: Part One. It’s new Accessibility options let disabled players try something which was once inaccessible. However, for the general consumer, the Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 re-release is likely to be a tough sell.
