Hoda Kotb makes a rare comment about her relationship with Joel Schiffman

Hoda Kotb gave a rare glimpse into her relationship with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman.

The “Today with Hoda and Jenna” co-host was talking with Jenna Bush Hager about the importance of kids seeing their parents treat each other with love when she raised the financier.

“I was only with very polite people. For example, when I would get up from the table, Joel would get up every time — every time — even if he “Normal dinner.”

Bush Hager, 42, said that Kotb, 59, may have seen her father treat her mother the same way, which is what she “expects” from a partner.

“Yes, that's what you deserve, what you feel like, 'Oh yeah, I'm worth it,' but I think it also comes out, when your kids watch, 'Oh, this is how two people treat each other,' [and] It's not like, 'Get me this!'” Kotb continued.

Kotb mentioned Shiffman, 66, again later in the show when the co-hosts discussed accidentally wearing your boyfriend's clothes.

“The only thing I did was that Joel and I had the same pairs of sneakers — except in different sizes I assumed — and when I put his sneakers on and they fit, he asked me, ‘Where are my sneakers?’ I said, ‘I don’t know,’ and he said, ‘They were here!’”

Kotb confirmed that she caught his wife by mistake and that they were “suitable.”

“It was sad!” Qutb said while laughing. “I say: These are your sneakers?!” He said: Yes, and I said: Oh my God, this is sad!

Kotb previously gave viewers glimpses into her relationship with Schiffman since the former couple continued to care for their adopted daughters: Halle, 7, and Hope, 4.

The couple split in December 2021 after dating for eight years and engaged for two years.

“It's not like something happened,” Kotb explained on “Today with Hoda and Jenna” in January 2022.

“They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season or a lifetime, and I feel like our relationship was only meant to be there for a season.”

However, the “Today” co-anchor has since moved on and is dating a mystery man who Bush Hager set her up with.

The mogul revealed earlier this month that they were planning a third date after the first two went well.

The “Hope Is A Rainbow” author hasn't shared the identity of her new man yet, but Page Six obtained photos of her walking with a man in New York City last week.
