The meta exchange happened because a relatively small number of HBO Max users reported problems accessing the streaming device Sunday night. According to service-monitoring website Downdetector, 3,784 people reported problems with HBO Max on Sunday night.
HBO Max said, in a statement Sunday, that a “small portion” of customers who were using Amazon Fire TV devices had trouble accessing the service and that it was working to fix the issues. “‘House of the Dragon’ is being watched successfully by millions of HBO Max subscribers this evening,” HBO Max’s statement said.

Metadata in @HBOMaxHelp’s tweets indicates that the service uses software from Sprinklr, a provider of Unified Customer Experience Management tools, to monitor and respond to user requests.
