Bill Murray and Rooney Mara denied entry to the SAG Awards Ballroom due to fire safety protocols

Bill Murray and Rooney Mara were among a group of people temporarily denied entry to the SAG Awards ballroom at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, due to fire safety protocols.

Variety Editor-in-Chief Ramin Sotoudeh took to Twitter with a clip from inside the party at the venue, where he toured a packed room full of celebs and others in fancy clothes.

“Total chaos at the SAG Awards where Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are not allowed on the ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel – they’re told they have to wait for the fire marshal to let them and hundreds of other guests in,” Stude said. .

He added, “Even Bill Murray has to wait. It’s crazy!”

In the clip, Murray, 72, is seen looking around the room, while Foy, 38, and Mara, 37, are seen chatting with others.

On the show, Murray was dressed in a black suit with a multicolored tie. The A-list actor has previously been nominated for three SAG Awards: in 2016, for A Very Murray Christmas; in 2016, for the Group Awards for The Grand Budapest Hotel; and in 2004 for Lost in Translation.

Foy wore a yellow dress from Prada to attend the sessions, where she wore jewelry and carried a small handbag,

Mara wore a black and white Alexander McQueen gown with her brown locks pulled back.

Plans were set by 5 p.m. local time, when the event began broadcasting, Page six reported, citing social media posts.

A number of Twitter users were not affected by the Stars deactivation.

One of the users said: Oh poor thing. They have to wait a little while for people to do their jobs,” with a rolling eyes facial emoji.

Another said: madness? truly? My God, you’ve had such a privileged life. How dare this fucking marshal follow safety protocols…just to make your life uncomfortable.

One user suggested that the organizers “should book a larger venue” or make sure they clean it up with the fire marshal first before inviting “too many attendees, add on,” or better yet invite those people who are nominated for awards and then check out number of seats after that. Then start inviting more.
