Inside Mark Wahlberg’s $87 Million Beverly Park Home – DIRT

With The latest surge in record-breaking sales In Beverly Park, the gated community of Los Angeles and a favorite of local and international celebrities and business giants, Mark Wahlberg decided the time was right to bring his Beverly Park home to market – asking for a whopping $87.5 million. Constructed by Markie Mark and his longtime wife Rhea Durham for their family, this massive home was completed in 2014 and designed by Richard Landry, California’s most famous architect of steroidal mega homes.

The current listing does not specify the architectural predisposition of the palace, but the gigantic venue is clearly influenced by Europe’s largest chateau, albeit certainly with Los Angeles and a very flashy kind of interpretation. Hidden behind giant gates and protected by a sophisticated security system, the estate consists of a massive main house, separate guesthouse, poolside cabana, and a full-size sports field side suite.

Guests will be impressed by both the formal El Motar Square, which wraps around a grassy island adorned with a tall fountain, and the two-story foyer, which features an elaborate double staircase. Travertine floors and hallways lead to a stately formal sitting room with two fireplaces, one on each side of the room, and no less than six sets of French doors. Even more impressive is the wood-panelled library, which is two stories high and has its own marble fireplace.

A sunny breakfast room overlooks the estate’s grounds, while a separate formal dining room offers a crystal chandelier, patterned wallpaper, and another fireplace. There’s another fireplace—one of at least seven in the main house—in the family room, adjacent to the main kitchen and two marble-topped islands. Upstairs, the master bedroom has dark brown hardwood floors, a seating area and a private balcony, plus double bathrooms and wardrobes – decked out in subtle white and lavender, and dense wood-paneled marble panels.

Other amenities at the properties are not limited to a glass-walled gym, wine cellar with tasting room, a movie theater with plush seating for up to 15 guests, several wet bars, expansive lawns, many mature trees, an outdoor skate park, an outdoor kitchen, green golf courses, a swimming pool on Cave style with waterfalls and formal gardens. One thing the property lacks, despite its position high in the mountains above Beverly Hills, is views of the city lights, but the 6.14 acres of land will likely make up for the omission.

Since its development in the late 1980s, Beverly Park has been the gated community of choice for some high-income earners in the entertainment world; The current population includes everyone from Sofia Vergara and Justin Bieber to Denzel Washington and Rod Stewart, and from Samuel L. Jackson and Eddie Murphy to The Rock and Magic Johnson. But if Wahlberg came anywhere close to his order, the house would easily rank as the most expensive Beverly Park property ever sold, surpassing That estate is $70 million and Adele’s 58 million dollars.

Kurt Rappaport From the Westside Estate Agency holds the list.
