And after 18 minutes of racy ads — I dare you not to have “a great camera, great screen, long-lasting battery life” resonating in your mind — Samsung told us everything we needed to know about the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33. This concludes today’s episode of Things That Could Have Been Dealt with via Email.
Here’s the pricing and availability info: The Galaxy A53 arrives on April 1, but you can pre-orders on March 18. The A53 costs 449 euros and the A33 costs 369 euros; This phone will be arriving later on April – April 22nd, to be exact.
“What about US prices?” You are asking. Friend, they only gave us Euro prices, but I’m sure Samsung will soon talk to us about US prices.
Pre-order the phones and you can get some Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds as part of the purchase.
SIM trays, side keys, and other phone parts are made from recycled phones, part of Samsung’s efforts to make sustainable devices.
One UI 4 is the preferred interface for the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33. Samsung is touting the privacy dashboard feature that comes with the Android 12 interface, which is a smart move given these privacy concerns today.
Let’s talk about durability. Both the A33 and A53 are IP67 water and dust resistant and feature a sturdy frame for drop protection. (But we imagine you’d still like to have a case.)
Samsung promises multi-day battery life from the 5,000mAh power packs in both phones. Apparently, unused apps are put to sleep without any intervention from you.
If you want to cut the chase, we have A first look at the Galaxy A53 Live now, as we have A first look at the Galaxy A33.
Samsung’s message seems to be that the Galaxy A phones should not be considered discount devices. Between AI-powered features and quick sharing capabilities, both the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A55 should be considered a front-line phone like the flagship Galaxy S22.
Phones use artificial intelligence when capturing video to adjust the frame rate. This AI also helps remove unwanted objects from photos. (The Pixel 6 offers a similar feature.)
The AI feature appears to be powered by a 5nm processor, which we assume is the Exynos 1280.
Here are the camera specifications: 64MP main camera in Galaxy A53 and 48MP in Galaxy A33.
Portrait mode has been improved across the A-Series to capture greater depth. Samsung also promises promising innovations in low light such as an improved night mode.
The Galaxy A53 features a 6.5-inch screen and the A33 has a 6.4-inch speaker. Samsung promises rich, immersive sound from a louder Dolby Atmos speaker. The phones rely on an algorithm to adjust the brightness when you are outside.
Don’t set your own set. Samsung is showing its live streaming video in portrait orientation, aimed at smartphone users.
By the way, we see the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A33.
More clues as to why the Galaxy A phones are getting their very own launch event today – Android Central reports A-series phones accounted for 58% of Samsung phone sales last year. You’d be throwing an event, too, if the Galaxy A52 (pictured above) and its friends were a big part of your phone business.
We’re less than 15 minutes away from the start of the Galaxy A event, and Samsung’s livestream is now, in fact, live. There’s a frequent video playing if you’re the type who likes to get amplified before launching your phone or if you like the music to play slowly.
“Great to all,” is the often-repeated chorus, just in case you were wondering what theme Samsung is shooting for today.
Depending on who you ask, there may be other phones making their debut during today’s Samsung event. The one that appears most frequently among rumor mongers is the Galaxy A73.
The rumors surrounding the Galaxy A73 are particularly interesting as some leakers believe it will get a 108MP camera – a first in the Galaxy A lineup. The A73 will also have a telephoto lens, which isn’t something you see on a lot of mid-range phones.
The Galaxy A73 looks much better and more premium than the Galaxy A72, it reminds me of the Galaxy Note 20 screen design pic.twitter.com/cZktNODpMarch 9, 2022
The problem, of course, is that these features are uncomfortably close to Galaxy S21 FE, the phone that Samsung launched back in January as a low-cost member of the Galaxy S21 lineup. The launch of the Galaxy S22 overshadowed this phone almost immediately, especially since the release of Galaxy S22 It only costs $100 more than the S21 FE and is Arguably the best value.
We can’t necessarily imagine Samsung releasing another phone that further undermines the Galaxy S21 FE, at least not on a global scale. It is possible that the Galaxy A73 will be limited to select markets, just as the Galaxy A72 was. Whether that means he gets any stage today at the Galaxy A event is anyone’s guess.
If you are looking for a last minute summary of what we expect Samsung to release today, Evan Blass has summarized the expected specifications of the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 at Tweet form.

Other mid-range phones are also set to compete with the Samsung Galaxy A33 and A53, most notably OnePlus Nord 2.
Last year we called the OnePlus Nord 2 “the new mid-range phone to beat” and reviewer Richard Priday concluded: “OnePlus has once again produced a phone that offers so much for its price that you might hardly believe the specs. It’s a pity they didn’t yet come to the United States.”
Samsung may have an advantage by bringing its more affordable phones to the US, but time will tell if it can topple OnePlus in other markets.
While the iPhone SE 2022 is the darling current budget phone making headlines, the Galaxy A33 and A53 will also need to stand up against Google Pixel 5a.
While popular specs put Galaxy phones ahead, Google’s latest budget phone is a bit of a triumph, offering a great Android experience in a stylish package with killer phone photography, all for less than $400.
When you are Announcing the Galaxy event today Over the weekend, Samsung was uncharacteristically vocal about what to expect at the product’s March 17th unveil. “Samsung is taking Galaxy A series impactful innovations even further,” the company said in its products. event announcement. “The amazing new Galaxy A series devices are designed to provide the fully loaded experience people want from a smartphone.”
This is a fairly broad claim, but we hope it means software improvements that bring more features to the Galaxy A range, particularly the cameras. Because for now, the initial links seem to indicate that the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 will offer cameras very similar to those of their predecessors – on paper at least.
Looking to stay up to date with Galaxy A news as it happens? As of this writing, the latest leak about today’s announcements focuses on Galaxy A33 specifications.
Specifically, the new phone is expected to launch at €379, which could translate to more than the $279 Samsung is charging for the A32. Phone makers rarely make direct phone transfers, and instead choose to set specific rates for certain regions. However, that price could reflect improvements rumored about the Galaxy A33, including an OLED panel instead of an LCD screen.
Why would anyone care about mid-range Galaxy phones? You may find yourself asking. And we hear you. Certainly, the Galaxy S22 phones that were launched last month have more premium features.
But as we noted at the beginning, Galaxy A phones are surprisingly strong sellers, especially with Samsung paying attention to its mid-range models in recent years. and with the iPhone SE 2022 Shipping tomorrow, it’s only natural that you’ll want to compare the new phones Samsung announced today – especially the Galaxy A53 – to Apple’s budget phone.
Here is a closer look at Why are you ignoring Galaxy A ads at your peril.
