The man who sued Gwyneth Paltrow said the skiing accident case wasn’t worth it

The retired ophthalmologist, who unsuccessfully sued Gwyneth Paltrow over a skiing accident in Utah in 2016, said suing simply wasn’t worth it.

Terry Sanderson, 76, said he shouldn’t have bothered to pursue legal action against the Goop founder, saying Reporters outside the courtroom He was “very disappointed” at losing the case.

When asked if the suit was worth it, Sanderson answered bluntly, “Absolutely not.”

This may have been after personal details from his private life, medical history and testimonies from his daughters and ex-girlfriend were aired in the courtroom.

Sanderson previously said the lawsuit means he can now “never go on another dating site again. It’s a pain trying to sue a celebrity.”

In 2019, Paltrow was sued by the former ophthalmologist for a skiing accident in Utah that left the man with a brain defect.

The doctor sued Paltrow in 2019 for $3.1 million, claiming that the accident at the Deer Valley ski resort left him with a brain impairment and damaged his relationships with others.

After a judge dismissed his initial complaint, Sanderson repaid $300,000.

Paltrow contested the $1 – on top of her potential six-figure legal fees – which the jury awarded because they agreed the actress was not responsible for the accident.

When Judge Kent Holmberg delivered the verdict on Thursday, the Oscar winner maintained her composure before letting a subtle smile show.

“We are pleased with the outcome and appreciate the interest of the judge and jury,” Paltrow’s attorney, Steven Owens, said in a statement outside the courtroom.

Paltrow contested $1 and legal fees and won after a jury found her not liable for the accident.

“Gwyneth has a history of standing up for what is right and this situation is no different. She will continue to stand up for what is right,” he added.

Paltrow’s representatives also released a statement on her behalf.

“I felt acquiescing to a false claim threatened my integrity,” Paltrow said. “I am pleased with the outcome and appreciate all the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and I thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
