Elon Musk hits back at Donald Trump after calling Tesla boss a ‘bulls*** artist’: ‘Time for Trump to hang up his hat’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has turned on former President Donald Trump after he called him “another bulls*** artist” for canceling a deal to buy Twitter and not voting for him.

The former president’s comments came after Mr Musk announced on Friday that he would not buy the social media platform and accused the company of misleading him about its nature.

“Elon, Elon is not going to buy Twitter,” Mr Trump told supporters in Anchorage on Sunday, adding that he had previously said. “Well, who knows what’s going to happen? He’s got a pretty rotten deal, neat, his deal, not a good deal.

He also blasted Mr Musk He said he would vote Republican for the first time.

“You know, he said the other day, ‘Oh, I don’t vote Republican,'” he said. “I said, I don’t know that. He said he voted for me. So he’s another bull*** artist, but he’s not going to buy it.

Mr Musk responded to a tweet containing a quote from the former president, saying it was “not true”.

In another reply below the same tweet, Mr Musk said it was time for Mr Trump to hang up his hat.

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and ride off into the sunset,” he said.

“The Dems also need to stop attacking — don’t make it as if Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the presidency.”

When asked by a conservative talk show host on Twitter what Mr Musk’s problem with a Trump presidency was, the SpaceX founder said it was “too much drama”.

Responding to another tweet in which a user suggested Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should run as Mr Trump’s vice-president in 2024 and then president in 2028, Mr Musk said: “Trump will be 82 when his term ends, which is too old. The chief executive of anything, let alone America.

“If you run against DeSantis [Joe] Biden in 2024, DeSantis will win easily — he won’t even need to campaign,” he added.
