Houston Astros pitchers Luis Garcia and Phil Mattoon both threw impressive runs against the Texas Rangers – nine pitches, three strokes.
Astros and Rangers officials said so It was the first time in MLB history that two nine-court rounds and three rounds were awarded in the same game by either one team or all teams playing each other.

Dusty Becker, director of the Astros, added: “We haven’t had our first role like this in a long time. A couple of records, the same players we hit nine pitches in a row. …so it was a good day for us.”
Garcia and Mattoon were the eighth and ninth shooters to throw immaculate roles in Astros history. Will Harris did it in 2019 against the Lost Angeles Angels and Brandon Backe did it in 2004 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

“It’s pretty cool,” Mattoon said. “It’s not something you go in here every day and strive to do. You obviously try to hit every hitter you encounter.” “I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. Great experience.”

Garcia went six innings and allowed two runs—one of them got four hits and hit nine. Mattoon rested him and made his only way up all three hitters.
