Will long video card fit?
My existing CompUSA computer case appears to be a SuperFLower SF201BK. It has a cage in the lower front to hold the hard drives. There are two fans in front of the cage to draw air in. Years ago when I installed a Geforce FX5900 it was long enough to block enough air and overheat the computer. I installed a better CPU cooler and round IDE cables help with this problem.
I would like to build a new computer using my old computer case. The new video card would be a Geforce 9800GTX+. The main problem so far is knowing whether the video card will fit or not.
Old card: Geforce FX5900 (length = 9.5 inches ???)
New Card: Geforce 9800GTX+ (length = 10.5 inches)
I was planning to get a motherboard with an nVidia nForce 980a chipset. Would I be better off changing that to a motherboard with an AMD chipset and getting a video card such as the ATI HD4850 since I believe it is shorter.
