HD 5970 or HD 6970

Hi guys just after a bit of help on what GPU to chose ether way i am going to Crossfire them, my question is what would be the best set up to crossfire the HD 5970 or HD 6970 i will be using them for gaming thank you very for time

The 5970 will be faster..but the negative thing is that, it is basically crossfire on 1 card. Therefore any game that does not support xfire will run slower than a 6970 and games that dont scale well with xfire may run slower on the dual gpu 5970....Also the 5970 only has 1gb useable memory, athough technically it has 2gb of ram on the card. A gtx570 would be another option you should consider.

6970 would be getting be getting around 150 frames per second, funnily enough the 580 if it's 20% better than 480 will be getting similar frames per second.


I bet the nvidia card has better lower frames rates so perceived average frame rate will be better than the ATI card.

As usual when they have cards that are very similar lol.
