ATI 4850: Best CPU+Mobo combination for it?
Hi!
I had bought ATI 4850 GPU couple of years back. Sadly then, I had Intel Pentium D, 2.8 Ghz, which actually never allowed my GPU to deliver to its true potential.
It's a bit down the lane, but can you help me find a CPU today that can be good enough for that GPU. I aim to get just the right CPU+Mobo for the GPU.
I had personally pinned down i2500K / AMD 1090T. But my knowledge of recent past is not that good about the performance and AMD vs Intel for ATI Radean. My budget would be not more than $200 for the CPU + Mobo, lower the better.
Objective: Get good CPU+Mobo for ATI 4580, which delivers its true potential for gaming, at minimmum cost. Or any better alternative you may suggest.
P.S: I am not sure, if this is right section, but since I am open to both Intel and AMD, and primary objective is getting right CPU for my Graphic card, I chose this section.

what do you think about buying LGA 1155 CPU-2500 Intel Core i5 i5, 3.30GHz/1MB/6MB BOX 64bit 32nm CPU or AMD FM1 Series A-A6-3650, 2.60GHz/4MB BOX / HD 6530D. that are currently offline popular processors, work well and are inexpensive

it brings to the AMD Vs. Intel, which one is better for ATI thing!
Will these CPUs be sufficient for this GPU?I am ready to pay an extra bit if there is something that will not bottleneck my GPU.
I hope my GPU is not outdated as of today, otherwise all my investments go in vain

Intel has its advantages, AMD has its advantages, AMD and ATI are now one company. Therefore, I recommend the AMD processor. The graphics card you have is not bad, and something more should be increased, usually can never attend to, as quickly come new and expensive things. there are a lot of expensive graphics cards, Leadtek GeForce GTX580 1.53GB/DDR5, / 2xDVI/mHDMI/384bit costs around 420 euros.
