After transferring the HDD to another computer the same thing occurred. So yeah, it seems to be a hard disk drive related problem. However, does this mean I will need to reinstall my OS to resolve it? |

-or- when you run chkdsk that it say says something to the effect of "found unrecoverable files"? If so, you should type fixboot then try the chk/dsk/R command. It could be a bad boot sector. |

This doesn;t sound graphics related at all. more CPU related or memory. I have had this issue twice. once was because i pushed the HTT speed on my athlon 64 to far, and the other was trying 2.98ghz on a athlon 64 with 1.75v. graphics problem can usallly be solved by booting in safe mode first, and getting a few things removed, and restart.

Hi, since this incident a full reinstall of windows was required. Going from Win XP to vista in the process. However, I will like to add that I windows XP just refused to boot. This means that I was unable to get into safe mode. As for my memory and CPU they are all fine. During the process of trying to recover my computer from this unexpected behavior, I brought everything down to stock and that did not change a thing. Cheers. |
