that chip would speed things up a bit, as would a faster graphics card. a 9600xt or 6600gt would be nice but you shouldnt put any of these things in if your psu isn't good. a good psu is even more important when you want to oc.

if you have to buy a psu, graphics & chip however, you may want to just save the money for a new pc. if your psu is good, then all you need to buy is that cpu & one of the above graphics cards. your pc will be soo much faster & if you oc all of it it will be a even more faster

the list of good & bad psu's is in my sig.

how to oc is in my sig too. click the arrow to find them

i dunno if the monitor or the card is responsible for the blue line. if you can connect monitor to another pc, or you can swap your card with another. if line stays away when you do one of these things it means monitor is ok & 9250 is stuffed. if line is still coming & going when you do one of the tests it means monitor is stuffed & 9250 is good.

take your time to carefully read all of that oc guide in my sig. it tells you how to oc cpu, ram, graphics the lot! artic cooling freezer 7 pro is an excellent & cheap cooler for awesome oc'ing. you can use this cooler on your next pc/cpu aswell.

i dont know about the bios being locked? you can try using rivatuner to oc the vid card. dont forget to slowly & carefully read all of the oc guide first, not to mention get some good cooling in there...freezer 7 pro, mod case vent guide in my sig aswell, fit an 80mm fan on case side inletting air to graphics, or better yet get a zalman cooler for it....you can use the zalman on future graphics cards aswell!

your temps are approx average for standard cooling and those chips. if you want to oc you want better temps, by doing things like those described above...

i dont know what eq is? the only eq i know is an equalizer

oh. well if it's only one application that you ever see the line, i'd say that it's either the card or software. if you never spend much time in any other 3d game however, then it's still possible it's the monitor.

i bet it's the card, but even if it's not the card, an upgrade to one of the 9600xt or 9800 or 6600gt or 6800xt would be great performance boost for little cash. again, you need to have a look at the psu and see what brand name it is. then you check the psu list in my sig to see if yours is good or not.

have a read of the system build guide in my sig too. good info for when you want to upgrade/spend some cash.
