ramsinks really do help out ALOT with newer rams... the GDDR3 rams on all the new ATI and Nvidia cards... but anything slower than 3.2ns wont need ramsinks to get more mhz

you wont fry it unless you continue overclocking it when you see artifacts or unless you voltmod. unless someone can proove me wrong, i have yet to see someone burn memory just by safely raising the speed without a voltmod.
most likely, it will just limit the oc by a few mhz, since you are using a 9200 (its not GDDR3) |

if you want to talk about the actual mhz you overclocked to, theres a seperate thread dedicated to the topic. it can be found @ http://forums.devhardware.com/t29823/s.html
you can probably go higher with your overclock, but since no two cards are the same, dont expect to have exactly the same numbers as posted. here is what danzo got : ATi Radeon 9200 64MB 128bit Member: DANZO Core: 320 Mem: 270 Cooling: Arctic cooler rev3 Tool: Rivatuner You probably wont get such a high overclock as hime since he is not using the stock heatsink/fan combo, he is using the Arctic cooler rev3 cooler. but that is just to show you how far the card can probably go if tweaked and cooled properly. |

thermal grease with epoxy like AS2 epoxy or thermal tape will get your ramsinks PERMANENTLY attached to the ram- meaning that once its on, its on forever. me, i used arctic silver 5, wich is a thermal grease, with no epoxy since i had no intention of keeping it stuck forever, it keeps it stuck just because of suction (no air) but if you touch it, it will move and might fall off. but it does hold if its upsaide down. another way is to use thermal grease and drops of supler glue or CA (Cyano Acrylite) on the corners to get it stuck (probably forever).

you live in canada? same as me! i got arctic silver 5 at a small shop for 13.60$ taxes included. its not just for one application, you can use it for at least 10 cpus if you are carefull. And no, dont use glue as it might actually make things worse. Since glue is not a very good heat conductor, you might end up insulating your ram chips and make it hotter than without the ramsinks.
if you arent wiling to pay that much, you could always go to la centrale informatique (www.shoplci.com) to buy some of their silicon-based thermal greased, its not as good as as5 (up to 5 degrees hotter) but its better than nothing @ 4$ + tax I got arctic silver 5 at ordicentre. their adress can be foun @ http://www.ordicentre.com/OrdicentreMainE.htm (french http://www.ordicentre.com/OrdicentreMainF.htm) hope this helps! |

usually it starts to artifact right away. if it is a heat issue, it may take a few minutes depending on how fast it warms up
but for the most part it's within a few seconds... also to test artifacts you should be running one of the more 3d intensive games or benches... something like nature in 01 and 03 usually point out artifacts first ![]() |

Ive bought new stuff now.. I have a p4p800-E Deluxe Motherboard, 1,5 gb ram ^^, Geforce fx 59000XT as before, and P4 3,2 ghz processor, and i also bought a Pro TC Arctic Cooling fan. But there seems to be some problems anyways. When i play games for an extended period of time the game starts lagging a lot, as in graphics lagging. What does this computer want me to do to keep it cool!?!? The games i play are: Americas Army Online, Lineage 2, And Thief: Deadly Shadows ( a game i play when im bored of the others) |

just looking at your system specs, i doubt that it will be due to heat, and lag is usually caused by software, not hardware overheating. i would suggest you look at your hard drives and defragment them or close any programs that can cause lag while playing like norton antivirus scaning or defragmenter or programs of the like
