well, the thing is that the video card has already been overclocked. This means that the card does not come with its orginal BIOS, because the only way the manufacturer will overclock a card is by overwriting the BIOS. Therefore there is very little space left for the users to overclock the card. I currently use a GeForce 6200 AGP, produced by PNY. This card has no problem to overclock up to 650MHz for the memory, and runs stable at 400MHz core frequency. My suggestion is that go with the original one if you are able to. Specially for PNY video card, there may not be any differences on the graphic chip, but the memory quality is much different from other brands. Remember that PNY was origianally a memory producer.

had to download older drivers to overclock the core. huge performance gain over newer drivers with no core overclock.

card: BFG 6200 OC 256MB 64bit DDR2

stock frequencies:
core: 350
mem: 532

Overclock so far (stable, no artifacts, 43c load temp)
core: 490
mem: 747

was ticked i couldnt overclock the core with newest drivers. but older drivers with overclocking gave me a HUGE boost in performance playing Battlefield 2. 350 core just doesnt cut it, and made gameplay super choppy, but now its much smoother.

ok i have 2 questions.

1. the older drivers i have to use to overclock the core cause Windows media player to hang using 100% cpu when i try to play any video. are the 76.44 the newest drivers that allow overclocking of the core? or is there 3rd party drivers that are up to date and will allow it?

updated overclock:

core: 525mhz
mem: 763mhz

2. ok so im using RivaTuner to overclock my card, and 525mhz is the highest the slider will allow me to overclock the core. is there any way i can get more than 525mhz? it runs much smoother with a higher core and its perfectly stable with no artifacts or overheating, so i want to take the core higher than 525.

thanks

ok yet another update. i started using coolbits and heres what i got.

core: 350 to 700
mem: 532 to 763

core can still go higher... but 700 is the max that coolbits will let me do. so yet again, any programs that will allow manual overclocking? im guessing the core's limit is around 750
