1950pro 512mb PCI-E
I have heard that this card has problems when overclocked heat issues. If any one has this card do you overclock it or recommended doing so. I have never overclock video card before just CPU's, thanks

I have the HIS version of that card, and I agree OC'ing it for games isnt gonna produce any noticable difference in performance.
However if you are OC it for Folding as I am, then you will find that OC'ing the card from default 2D clocks to what it would be doing for 3D games/apps, then it handles the heat very well. I am comparing it to my x1900xt card which gets a little on the hot side when OC'd to 3D clocks for folding.

Ok sound good. i don't think I will be overclocking this card. i will be upgrading to 8800GTS in about a month or so. Any suggestions on which brand to get, thanks |

Some like Sapphire offer additional software and others like HIS provide a quality cooler to help keep those temps even lower.
They are all pretty much the same, except for the ones that are factory OC'd. If your getting a 8800gts in a months time, do you really need a x1950pro as a stop-gap? |

Well what is your pc specs? Also do you need dx10 right now and are you running vista. I would say screw dx10 until the games start getting released (not 1 a month but 10+ a month). |

Well unless Mr Gates releases dx10 for XP you can't have dx10 without upgrading to Vista and if you do the best version is ultimate. |
