Ti-groupe files
i am always bored in class and i have been looking for frogger. when i finally found it, the screenshots had good graphics and had amazing comments. so i downloaded it and it said there was no ti-connect program, but a ti group. i put it on my ti-83 and i couldnt find it. i was looking through the memory and seen it beside mirage os, archived.
when i tried to unarchive it so i can play, it said:
ERROR: VARIABLE
1:QUIT
2:GOTO
why???

It may have only transferred a App Variable named Frogger... or something like that
Do you actually have the TI Connect software installed on your hard drive?

I'm not sure on the exact details, but give me a sec and I'll do it and copy down the steps I took to completely install MirageOS and Frogger on my calc (I can backup my calc for a minute)
EDIT: Ok, it took me a while after I had to downgrade my OS to get Virtual TI working (a different story for a different time), and I found out that 1.19 OS won't work for my calc, so I FINALLY got another copy of my original 1.14 OS, and got MirageOS working. And I also found out that most of the Frogger games on TI Calc don't work (for the 83+ at least), so I had to do some serious searching, but eventually found the one I used to use high school freshman year, FrogGuts. It works perfectly, from what I understand from it's Readme File, it has some glitches, but none that will make the game impossible to beat. Here's those steps, but mind you, they're very simplified so that my 6 year old cousin understood them (but he's pretty smart, so...). Don't take it offensively, it's just so anyone who seems them won't need (much if any) prior knowledge.
1. Download MirageOS from Internet (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/139/13949.html)
2. Unzip MirageOS and put in separate folder
3. Download FrogGuts from Internet (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/95/9542.html)
4. Download and install TIConnect (if you haven't already downloaded and installed it)
5. Turn on calculator compatible with current MirageOS version and compatible Operating System (v.1.14+)
6. Plug calculator into computer with USB, COM, or Parallel Link Cable
7. Go to seperate folder where MirageOS was unzipped to, and right-click the MIRAGEOS.8xk or MIRAGEOS - TIConnect Application file
8. Select "Send to TI Device..."
9. Make sure it sends the file to your desired calculator with the "Select Device" button if you have more than one calculator plugged into your computer, and that it sends it to the Archive before you press "Send to Device"
10. Wait for the transfer to completely finish
11. Unzip the frogguts.zip file into another separate folder
12. Right click the frogguts.8xp file (as opposed to FROGGUTS.83p or any of the other non-TI program files) and again select "Send to TI Device..."
13. Again, make sure it's sending the file to the correct calculator if you have more than one plugged into the computer, and that it's sending the file to Archive
14. Once completed, you can unplug your calculator
15. Go to Apps, MirageOS, Main, and then choose FROGGUTS
16. Press Enter and enjoy
Of course this will also work with CrunchyOS, or any other TI Applications of the sort
Tell me if you have any problems with this.

Well, a group is like a zip file on the calculator
To unzip it, you go to [2nd], [+] (Mem.), [8] (Group...), [->] (UNGROUP), and select the one you need. But while going through that procedure, I did find many frogger games, and the ones that I found that came in groups didn't work. You might of downloaded one of them. If it has the programs FROGGER, ZFROGGER, and ZASMLOAD, it may not work. In my list I did include the address of a working Frogger I found. Also, another way you can open a group is on the computer: Right-click the file, and go to expand. I'd suggest doing it into a folder.
Also, they're TI programs, not TIConnect Programs, and they're groups, not TIGroups. Just a technicality.
