Exclamation Problem with calc (stuck in an unterminated program?)

please tell me any ideas on how to fix this!
there is a small little vertical line on the upper right hand side of my screen (this would be first row last column if you wanna organize the screen like that)
I can still perform calculations etc...
but when the first screen fills up with calculations and scrolls down to new screen more lines appear

| | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | |

then I press clear and it's only that one at the top corner
|
I think it might still be trying to execute a program I created and somehow didn't end it properly

any ideas? any way to stop executing all programs (if that's the problem)?

Press [2nd][+][7][2] (in a row, not at the same time) and see if that helps.

problem continues... I need to use it for an important class, I don't know if there's any way I can contact them (the company) and get it replaced or something. ? I also have two different chords to hook it to the PC if there's anything I can do to my calc from the PC. ?

tried [2nd][+][7][2] and hit yes to reset defaults, it didn't work... although the problem does go away sometimes it comes back... also alot of times stuff appears on the screens all jumbled and i can't make out the letters and the cursor gets all screwed up
thanks though

the fastest way to end a program is simply to press [ON]

you will get:

ERR: BREAK
1:QUIT
2:GOTO

if you want to see where it was in the program is to choose goto, but if you just want to quit and delete the program press quit.

to delete the program press [2ND]{MEM}[2][7]

then choose the program you want to delete

If you ask me, this sounds less like a problem in a BASIC program, but more of a software malfunction
Deleting a program or simply pressing ON won't fix it (i think).

It would be helpful if there was a list of TI calculator problems_symptoms and known solutions. With as many users on this forum, we should have an area for common problems and solutions (like FAQs) that we could check. Everybody has at least one they ran into.
