USB Flash drive Application Delivery HDW

I am a retired SW Exec (Sales / marketing) and have a product idea that would require that a C app be started and auto-run from a memory stick type device, and that a USB based signal pass through the device to talk to the C program on the PC. The App is small >3 meg but has a 1.5 Gig data set with it, and the data rate of the external device is 34.6 Kb. I also would like to copy protect or "lock" the app to the device. Can this be done? Who are the mfg's of such devices? Does anyone out there have experience setting up this type of App?
The delivery model is similar to the USB based TV receivers from Happaug WinTv or Pinnacle except the signal is a USB based data stream vs. an analog TV signal.
