How to connect an external zip drive to my PC?
I've got one of the old blue external iomega 100mb zip drives. It's a scsi device with a parallel port. What is the best & simplest way to connect it to my Gateway MT6840 laptop PC which is sata running Vista? I know I can get a scsi pcmcia card, but is that the right solution and how can I patch it to the parallel port? I've got a PC card slot, a 4-circut firewire, and of course USB.

Your best bet would probably be a USB-Parallel converter. Should be inexpensive, if you can find one.

Frankly, though, the Iomega is so darn slow, it really isn't worthwhile unless there is something on one of the discs you know you must have access to.

Enable BSOD: Control Panel/Systems, Advanced Tab, hit the Settings button under Startup and Recovery, and under the System Failure area, uncheck the Automatically Restart checkbox.

Hello,

Connect device in your PC's external parallel port zip drive and then follow these steps:

* Restart your computer
* Install the Driver
* Open CD Drive and click the Guest icon and install it.
* Then Reboot your system and put your zip disk in zip drive.
