HELP: Files are intact, but Windows Explorer can't see them!
Hi Guys, I posted another thread, but now I see the problem is actually a lot simpler than all that:
My problem is that my files and folders don't show up under windows explorer.
The files and folders are intact, and they DO show up with Tree Size Free, for example, AND THEY ARE ACCESSIBLE! That is, I can view photos and watch video if I launch it from Tree Size Free.
So the files are not deleted or anything. They are just not visible to windows explorer.
The files and folders don't show up under windows explorer, but the space they occupy is registered so if I right click on the drive and go to properties, it shows all the used space it should, it just won't show the files USING the used space!
Again, the files DO show up using other software such as Tree Size Free, and they are accessible and work properly.
Any idea why windows explorer cannot see the files, folders or access them?

Please allow me to add that none of these are system files or hidden files or files in hidden folders.
These are regular MS-Word documents, photos, avi's, mpeg's, etc, and they are all saved in folders on external hard drives.
The exact same thing happened to 3 external hard drives at the same time such that I can't see the contents of any of them using windows explorer now.
It doesn't matter which computer I plug them into, the result is the same. It accounts for the space used by the files, but they don't show up at all in windows explorer.
They are accessible from Tree Size Free, and I imagine they would also be accessible from Power Desk (if I had it installed) or any other third party software. Just not windows explorer.
