Unhappy DVD RAM Drive won't read any disc's

Greeting's

I havent had this issue before & would appreciate any help giving,

my dvd-ram drive has worked for month's ,

used about 4 discs in it alltogether ,

i mainly use my pc for computer games but most are installed on my pc from a games program thus not needing a disc,


but since last week any disc i insert the dvd ram drive does not even detect it like i havnt inserted a disc atall .

and just a few days ago it worked then my game crashed , but it somtimes does that ,


but it hasnt worked since ,

somtimes it makes a sort of noise like a what a floppy disc makes when its in the floppy drive ,


i will give you my computer specs and the name of the dvd/cd ram drive,


i have dissconnected and reconnected the wires inside the tower U& the device manager and everything esle about the dvd ram drive says it is working fine ,

but it will not read any disc's,

2.71 GHz , 3.00GB Of RAM

Graphic's Card :

Also note , i play games like ArmA :2 on disc,

You could try running a DVD cleaner disc through it.

hmm indeed,

if that doesnt work i still have a hardware warrenty

this might sound silly but if my DVD ram drive doesnt read any disc's does it have to read the dvd lens cleaner disc or does that just clean the lens and no more ?
