i've got a question...i know that u dont need any software when u install a cd or dvd rom...but why is there always a floppy whenever u buy a drive?...whats it for?

maby some older motherboards and OSs that did not come with all teh drivers preloaded for almost everything?

If you ever tried to install and os that didnt have a bootable cd or somethign, and you never had a windows 98 bootdisk with the cdrom support, you could use that disk that comes with the drive to load drivers, so you could see your cdrom drive. THats what the disk is for.
