Im using an 8x cd burner and I can burn files but when I try to create an audio cd, it never works. Ive tried several programs. Just recently, I installed Acoustica MP3 CD Burner and I get this message:

Error: 'WRITE' command failed on device 1:1:0
Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 24h 00h)

How old is this drive? Make sure it's on MS's Hardware Compatibility List, if not, that may be a start.

Try new drivers and firmware.
