2nd HDD Will not let me access it

Hi, I had linux running on a 2nd HDD which after an update went into a boot loop and having nothing on it worth saving I was just going to format it and use it as extra storage for my Windows 7 HDD.

I have set it up correctly as a slave and my windows 7 as a master however it will not show in My Computer.

I have had this set as a 2nd HDD before but it seems as the corrupt linux install is on it its not wanting to show up.

All i have tried is opening the drive manager and trying to assign a letter to it, however most options are greyed out so i cannot do this! The option to format it is also not present unless there is another way?

Any other suggestions on how i could get it up and running again?

Thanks in advance

Go into Control Panel, Administration, and click on the Storage link. You should be able to partition and format the drive from there.

There is also the chance that your drive has failed.
