I <3 Google.
Quote:
1. Open regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT –> Installer and select Products
3. Use the Find menu to find quicktime inside that part of the key
4. Delete the part of the tree that you find
5. You should now be able to install Quicktime and iTunes without incident
2) Instal and Run. In the program box, look for any traces of quicktime. When I ran it I had leftover peices of an older version of quicktime. You may only find left over pieces labeled with their version numbers and not the words "quicktime". For example, on my computer I had the words "7.0.2" in the program box. That was the left over quicktime piece for me. Highlight the left over pieces and click "remove".

and by the way he is a she!!!
You may want to take a look at other options beside iTunes. I use Anapod Explorer. Not only can I drag and drop my songs with ease, I can also stream audio from my ipod to any computer in the house...

Can't Get Rid Of Qt 6.5 On Windows Xp Computer
I have a Mac at work with a T-4 trunk line. It has QT 7.l and everything is fine.
But, I recently bought a Windows computer for home (my genealogy program works on Windows only) and, unfortunately is seems, I downloaded Quick Time 6.5 to it forgetting that I only have dial-up and can't use QT at all.
I understand QT 6.5 has security flaws and that I should update to a newer version. But, since I can't use it, why spend another 4+ hours downloading a newer version.
I have never seen anything like this!
When I go to Add or Remove Programs, there is no listing for QT or Apple. I have Windows Install Clean Up but neither QT or Apple show up there, either. When I go to Start>All Programs>Quick Time there are 4 options: 1). QT Player, 2). QT Read Me, 3). QT Updater and 4). Picture Viewer.
The only location I can find QT in is in the Contro Panel between Program Updates and Regional and Language Options!
I never would have believed that Apple would not have an un-installer on one of their programs.
Now, I have "sweaty palms" and I don't know how to get rid of QT.
Running Win XP/Home. Any suggestions that hopefully don't require that I go into the Registry. Yikes!
