One of my computers is an old W98 computer. 25? mhz processor, 256 ram, etc.
I'm currently running Windows Xp on it. 1. First thing I did, was: Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance Settings I turned all visual effects off. 2. Go to desktop, right click: properties/Appearance/Windows and Buttons, change to "Windows Classic Style" 3. You can also go start/run: "msconfig"/Startup and deselect any junk programs you don't want to start on logon. That's all I've really done. Cutting down on the visuals really helps. |
