Best Spam Filter ?
Hello all,
I've recently gotten tired of having too many symantec applications on my pc at once. one problem and they all go screwy. performance wise i did not have any issues till 2006 ver and used NAV & SW for probaly 10+ years now, at any rate...
I'm looking for a Spam filter for outlook/outlook express. NAV or maybe it was NIS i forget, had a really great spam filter that i got very used to, but now i need a different one.
What's the best to use nowadays for spam filtering ?
free or pay either way
multiple suggestions welcome
.

What e-mail server do you use? gmail has a good spam filter, but the best (and most effective) is just to delete the messages without viewing them, and set that e-mail address to automatically put in the spam box.

for web based mail, i use yahoo and they also integrate a nice spam filter into their qmail server as well
but i was speaking more bout bout my website domain's email server in particular. its a POP3 server so i'm looking for a stand alone application that i can install to piggy back onto outlook/outlook expressor any other pop 3 client... for enduser

Spamihilator and SpamAssassin come to mind. There's another one I used a couple years back, can't think of the name of it, but the icon was an orange octopus.
These are the ones I've seen mentioned and IIRC have heard good things about in the past, though it's been a long time since I've anything like them, and haven't used the two linked at all; don't take this as a first-hand account.
I'm using GMail, and usually it moves spam messages to the spam folder, and it's really working indeed.
PS: I hate Symantec! End of story!
