Well i use Avira too...I don't say trhat it is the best because i hadn''t made any test..I just say that it served me well for some time now and i don't have any problems with it

I use AVG free ed. at home as I have found it's great on resources. I use the free version of spyware doctor (from google pack) along side it. I think it works pretty well and it's free.

I have yet to pay for anti-virus software and have never had a computer crash or get bad infections on any machine running free anti-virus software. I don't see a reason to pay for anti-virus unless it's for a business.

My company at work uses Mcafee and it's rediculous with the resources it uses.

avast home is on every machine ive never used, granted with all the on access scanners it actually uses more memory than norton, but you cant tell. I only have the on access file scanner and web scanner enabled and never had an issue, I agree panda is good, but Ive had bad experiences where it ended up being installed and conflicting with mcafee and constantly thrashing the machine. Mcafee enterprise is good but the home edition has become second in line to norton. avira i dont rate at all and i hate the way it spams me to buy the full edition... anything that spams is bad in my book.

Ive never managed to get nod32 to work at all, I bought a license a while ago and put it on my brothers pc (he gets a lot of virus' and i thought id give nod a try) within a week i had complained to nod and got my money back, AVG is ok but my dads pc ended up in a worse state... the savior of all my familys pc's is AVAST... i will never use any other AV... EVER (unless i work for a company that force me to)
