heat is energy percieved as temperature. its a bipoduct of molecular movement.
temperature is a quantitative way of measuring heat.

I wonder how kids did homework before the internet. There were these things called 'books' and people 'read' them to 'learn'. Then, when people wrote their answers, they used 'grammar', 'spelling', and 'punctuation'.

I fear for the kids of tomorrow.

I must admit that I have needed the internet for my homework more than one. It really comes in handy when I forget to bring my notes... Oh, btw, I thougt that it was easier to search for things on Google than to ask around in the forums, or at least for academic standartised info... I think that somebody should sticky something that says to use Google first and foremost...

i use it for calc, sometimes he give us tests based on old AP tests, and all I do is go online and find the answer. Its really bad of me, but I do all my work, and it is a great grade booster, and doesn't take away from learning, I still need to do it for class tests.

You want to complain about not contributing? You come here and expect us to give you answers, when you've done jack for any of us, and want to complain about others not contributing?

But hey, I guess Quantum Skyline is just a mod who knows nothing about the forum rules and customs around here.

Funny thing is you could find an answer using a physics resource site instead of asking some schlub in a forum.

I don't know guys. I mean I understand how it could be annoying to help when there are other resources, but if a member of DevH needs help, perhaps it would be kinder to help instead of get mad. This is the internet, and therefore we should all be allowed freedom of speech (without getting yelled at). Maybe we should make a rule that says after a certain amount of posts (that shows you contribute), you can ask for help. This is kind of like a brotherhood of sorts.

1.) No such thing as free speech here, nor is it a right to anyone on the internet. This is private property, you will abide to the agreement made at registration or you will be banned.

2.) Helping a member could be a little different, but this was a guy who came for this and nothing more, than left. We don't want this to become a problem- we aren't here for random people who don't do homework themselves. If it was a contributing member, I'd imagine it would be a little more well-recieved; however, I'd still be wary because of the previous statement.

3.) Would it be kinder to help than get mad? On the surface yes, but look deeper. It damages the forums, which harms every member; it also in an enabler for those wanting help- they don't learn the actual concepts themselves, they don't learn how to research themselves. It does a lot more harm than good.

4.) Concerning the number of posts before you can get help... I'd be wary of spammers who come for nothing but the "help," or stay for nothing but the "help." This one is a bit of a gray area.
