When we are asking without everything but the speed of gravity, the bullet will hit the ground at the speed it left. But when we bring terminal velocity into effect, it makes sense. As well, we hafta look at the hailstone itself. A hailstone has less mass and density than a bullet, as well, it is affected by air resistance. Also the bullet was in a theroetical scenario, henseforth the bullet will travel for a very long time. As well, most bullets travel at a higher velocity than 450fps so this is quite probably for a theoretical point of view...

Well yes you're right in the fact that it would had there been no friction. So I guess the question is whether the problem is asking the question with or without friction. I assumed that it would be including friction. Its been 4 years since I've sat down in a physics class. It's not fresh in my head

i think he said neglect air resisteance. I'm in physics right now. The class is a joke, every thing is so damn easy, I have missed tw o points all semester, and got 6 bonus.

You're right, it's one of those talked about, not in the rules, rule! NO HOMEWORK. No one ever did my homework, but me...same goes here.
We also get to giggle at a necromancer, bringing back to life a thread that died in January!!!!!!!
I did send him a warning...he has 2 posts and they both necromance & ask for help on his homework.
