My Issue: I have a web server that is currently maxed out and I have to restart it everyday. I will be getting a new server shortly but in the mean time what I want to do is create a batch file that will restart the server and also log the event into a text file each time it restarts. I haven't looked much into this, but I was told that I could use Windows Scheduler to kick off the batch file everyday at a specific time that would be able to complete this task. This is what I want:
Scheduler kicks off batch file at 5am every morning that logs the event and restarts computer...possibly get an email notification??? (That would be cool) Can anybody give me the code to put in the batch file to do this?...and also tell me where the best place to put the file is and so on? |

I really think you should have made a new topic with your problem in it instead of bringing my old one up. Just to let you know. Can a mod please close the topic. Thanks.

Yes, it is very possible, in fact, highly probable, that you are wrong. You would be a better person if you would just admit that. And I would be less annoyed. ![]() "I like doggies....and apparently dinousaurs, mostly because they eat cats!" --Nilpo |

For windows2000, but should apply to all others http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317584
Straight from MS support itself. No batch file needed. |
