Rules Of Conduct. Please Read !!
Welcome to the DevHardware community!
As you may guess from the name of this site, we are a hardware site. Therefore there are a few rules of professional conduct that we implement around here. - This section is for discussing issues concerning PROGRAMMING ONLY. If unsure, PM one of the moderators for the correct forum to post your topic in.
- This is a programming forum...No outside discussions (e.g. what's the name of your dog, what's the color of your car, or what's your favorite food)
- There will be zero tolerance for the following occurrences:
- Soliciting (e.g. distributing information attributing to your personal gain and not being helpful to any of the members of the forum)
- Spamming (e.g. posting a large amount of useless info that clutters up web space and creates confusion
- Abusive language up to and including harassment, discrimination and plain belittling other members of the forum.
WARNING: If you are caught doing the above, there will be an action taken immediately depending on severity of the offense. Minor offense will mean Warning that will impose 5 points on your rating, 10 points will get your name banned for a short period of time. If the offense is determined to be a large one, your name might be permanently banned without restoration.
- Furthermore, I would like to note that all your posts are subject to an edit if, in fact, an abuse of the rules is found.
- *** Posting links about illegal warez or asking for help with a warez will get you a warning or ban. ***
Off the record: We are here to help, talk, chat and have fun. If an argument sparks (which happens often), the members should take it to the flame forum immediately and not pollute any hardware section with it.
Thank you so much for reading. Enjoy your stay.

DevHardware Signature Rules
One of the perks of continued membership is having a custom signature for your posts.
Below is the criteria you must meet before you get a custom signature...along with rules governing the type, size and contents associated with the privilege.
Criteria- You must be a registered member for 90 days.
- You must have 100 non-spam posts.
Guidelines- Text Only Signatures = You can have up to 4 lines of text with a maximum font size of 2, measured as such in a maximized window at a resolution of 1024x768px.
- Single Image Signatures = The MAXIMUM size of the image is 486 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. Please don't think you have to use the whole space, though....smaller is better.
- If you use a signature image you get 2 additional lines of text, measured same as above.
- You only get one image of a substantial size in your signature. BUT, if you want a additional little image for say Firefox and another separate one for Thunderbird, you can add separate [IMG] tags to each, go ahead. Keep the size to a minimum, and line up the images horizontally (next to each other), not vertically (stacked), to save space.
- Animation needs to be kept to a minimum. Nothing distracting form the forums, and keep the size (in KB) small to make life easier for our dial-up members. Keep it under 150KB.
- Your signature will be shown only on your first post on each page of a thread to avoid clutter.
Rules- First and Foremost the contents of your signature must be acceptable for our community.
- They shall not contain any profanity, vulgarity, or insults/disparaging comments to our community or its members.
- Comments and/or links that represent direct competition are not allowed.
- No personal advertising, spam, or harassing links will be included into the signature.
Any signature violating these rules will be considered spam, the signature will be cleared and the offending member will be addressed by our moderators.
