USB hands down.
PS/2 is being phased out.

Indeed, all pc's at my work (10,000+) have been replaced by models no longer having ps/2 ports, nor do they have floppy drives.

Here's some perspective for you: I was having an annoying problem with a five-button PS2 optical mouse. I decided I wanted to replace the mouse. Being the kind of person who likes instant gratification, I decided to get one from a brick-and-mortar place. Neither Wal-Mart or Target had one, they've all gone to USB mice (though apparently there are plenty of PS2 mice available on eBay).
Now some of you might be aware of a nice little gadget that lets you convert a USB mouse so it can use the PS2 port. I tried that with the USB mouse I eventually got. It didn't work. It turns out that not only do modern mice use the USB connection, they don't support being converted anymore! It turned out that the problem was the kind of thing I could fix with the appropriate mouse drivers -- and it's a good thing I still had the CD with the mouse drivers, because the company that makes the mouse could not be found online; it looks as if they went out of business. Anyway, yeah, the point of the story is that PS2 is WELL on its way out (I mean, if you can't even down-convert to it anymore...).

Isn't it also, IIRC, that because USB has such wider bandwidth/throughput, it can use up to 8 keys at once for long shortcut combos. I know PS/2 can only signal 3 keys pressed at once.

I like USB just because I can unplug it and plug it back in w/o having to reboot.

I've done that with PS/2. You just can't boot without it and plug it in later. |

Huh, ok, I don't know why I thought I couldn't unplug then plug it back in...then again, that shows how long was the last time I played w/ PS/2.. lolz |
