Using a Samsung CLX-3170 (CLX-3175FN) Scanner via network in Ubuntu
Is that subject line specific enough?
I have a Samsung CLX-3175FN, multifunction printer hardwired into my home network. It has a fixed IP address, and I am looking to get the scanner working over the network. I can print to it from my Ubuntu 8.10 machine, just can't see it via xsane, which I know is mostly an issue of configuration (or more specifically, a lack thereof).
So far, I have found this information for xsane:
Code:
# Samsung CLX-3170 Series
SYSFS{idVendor}=="04e8", SYSFS{idProduct}=="342a", MODE="0664", RUN+="libusbscanner", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
I also have this site, which lists xerox_mfp (1.0-11) as the backend driver.
I just don't know how to put it all together. Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
