Same problem
I'm havinf the same problem for no appartent reason. I have a ball PS/2 mouse attached, and
a USB wireless wheel mouse, and it's almost impossible to get either of them to go where I want. Since it affects different mice in different ports I assume it's either a mobo or windows problem. Have you found out what's going on. The only thing I can think of to try (and I haven't yet) is to update the mobo drivers or run a windows repair - although it's a fairly new installation. I have winXP home on an AMD 2700+ with a crappy PC chips mobo (which is why I lean to mobo problem) Would updating mouse drivers help if it's for 2 different mice? |

Even though this has been revived twice...pretty sad...once after 9 months, this time only about 3 weeks...but, has anyone thought to change out the batteries? That usually works with my wireless stuff!

Hi all,
My mouse randomly freezes for short instants of time, then works again. It worked great for the longest time, and now this. I use a corded Logitech Optical Wheel mouse through a USB port in WinXP. When it happens, the cursor freezes, the red light from underneath the mouse stops, and windows makes the usual "a USB device has been unplugged/plugged-in" sounds. The actual freeze length depends... goes from 5-15 seconds. And the frequency of the freezing is much higher when I play CounterStrike; and when it happens, the game lags very noticeably. If the mouse is left alone, it does not appear to ever freeze. I have tried installing the most recent drivers, but nothing... Rebooting seems to midly alleviate the problem, but very temporarily. If anyone has a similar problem, please mention it and the things you tried, successful or not. Thanks for you help. Take it easy, Chunky |

Have you gone to Logitech's website, to their tech support? Worth a shot!
