Can you find an old PS/2 keyboard, or borrow a USB board from a friend to test with to make sure it's the keyboard at fault, and not a software issue.
After you've determined it's the keyboard you'll want to download the latest drivers / utility from Logitech's website, and see if that helps. If it's still doing it, check the settings of the Logitech software, it could be that for some reason it changes the language of the keyboard. Let me know if its still not working after that.

its gotta be software cause the hardware wouldnt distinguish between programs like its doing. I just updated the setpoint software, didnt fix the problem in WoW right away but ill see if it happens again. |

did you mess around with your keyboards character mapping? If not check your regional setting on the programs and your computer. Perhaps it's using a special map because it thinks you are from a weird country!

Didnt mess with it.. i dont even think i have the character mapper installed... it works fine and then after a disconnect (in WoWs case) after relogging it will start substituting the character. completely exiting wow and restarting it fixes the prob till the next time... its wierd. |

Does it only happen inside the WOW program? has it ever happened on another program?

Sorry for revisiting an old thread, however i believe i have found the solution to my problem while fixing my brothers computer.
It seems the language toolbar in vista likes to automatically switch without warning at times. I ended up having the same problem on his computer as mine except it wouldn't go away when i closed the programs or restarted windows. I thought of some of the posts here and took a peak at the language toolbar and behold, The Canadian multilingual keyboard setting substitutes the È character for the /. I have since removed all but the language input profiles I intend to use. Lets see if it happens ever again.
