G5 (rev 2) vs DeathAdder

Hey all,

i currently own an original Logitech g5 and cant say enough good stuff about it, i am having excellent results in COD4, i absolutely love this mouse but as some of you may know it always had middle mouse button problems and up until now I've been able to remedy most of them but its finally bought the farm and no longer works properly in-game.

now I'm looking at getting a new mouse and cant decide whether i want a Razer DeathAdder or a Logitech g5 (rev 2).

I've never owned a Razer so i have no idea what their like

Also I've heard that the g5 (rev 2) has had changes made to the middle mouse button and is supposed to be better.

so my questions are:

1)has anyone used either (or both would be even better) of these mice and care to share their thoughts

2)has anyone used the 1st and 2nd edition g5 and could they tell me if there are substantial improvements to the middle mouse button

3)i like my mouse to be fairly heavy, i have my current g5 loaded with the max amount of weight, what is the weight of the DeathAdder like?

4)how is the middle mouse button on the Adder?

also the DeathAdder has a different type of optic its a 3G infrared but still has a max dpi of 1800 compared to the g5's 2000

i don't really care about that becasue i never use anything other than the g5's stock middle ground of 800dpi

so my last question is:

5) technically speaking should a g5 with a dpi of 800 have the same approximate sensitivity and require the same amount of mouse pad space to travel the width of my desktop as a DeathAdder with a dpi of 800 as well (hope that makes sense)

thanks alot for any input

-Phil

I dunno what help this will be, but I can't comment on the Death Adders. I'm also left-handed, but I have a Logitech G3 Laser mouse and I love it absolutely. I don't think you can add weight to it though...so I dunno how much you'll like it. I'm not sure of the dpi as well. I have heard good things about the Adders though, and if you buy it at Best Buy you can always return it within 30 days...
