Cordless Keyboard not responding but mouse working fine
Hi,
I have a Packard Bell Cordless mouse and keyboard, up until today both were working fne, this afternoon the keyboard stopped working but the mouse is working fine.
I have tried replacing the batteries in the keyboard, rebooting the machine but the keyboard is still not reponding.
I now have a regular keyboard which is working fine. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Hi. I am having a similar problem. I have a microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard and mouse. I've had it for 14 months and everything has been fine. I just reinstalled XP and now the keyboard won't work. I have tried many things several times including: replacing the batteries, reinstalling the driver, updating the driver, resetting the reciever, switching usb ports, unpugging and rebooting, etc... The system detects the keyboard and driver and states that it is working fine. I am using a ps2 keyboard at the moment and that is working fine. I've tried the trouble shooting on ms website and even tried spaeaking to their support but as it is an oem part they won't help. My dealer states that it is out of warrantly and I should purchase a new one. The mouse works fine. I can only imangine that its is some bizzare configuration problem but I can't figure it out. Any ideas???

cordless keyboard not working
Hi. I know I am over a year too late with this response but I have just experienced this same problem and after fiddling around with the keyboard and the receiver thingy ... sorry, but I'm no technician so sorry about the vocab ... but anyway, I have switched the switch under the receiver and done the same with the switch under the keyboard and wala, the keybard is working again. I find that if I don't have the switches both where they obviously should be, I can use the mouse but I can't type anything, and vice versa. So, could your problem be the same as mine? If not, sorry for wasting your time. But mine works fine now. I have HP hardware. See ya.

cordless keyboard not working but mouse is ok

Hi,
I had the same problem with a clients' cordless keyboard which misbehaved just after servicing an 18months old computer set.
I was just lucky that they new I was perfect in what I was doing, otherwise I had replaced batteries, tried to open and clean keys' contacts' circuits and nothing worked at all!! The only solution was to replace their keyboard.
Before that I logged on this lovely website.
krysann's technique of pressing either of the switches under the keyboard or the one on the reciever or control unit, has worked for me.
You've saved me over $40.
Thank you so much.
