Ok, so the 6600 GT will get me the graphics power I need. I'll start a thread when it comes time to OC the Video card and CPU. Thanks, that helps shave some cost. What MSI motherboard?

anyway, it's over now.
I had an AGP card at first, but then I changed it because butmunch told me it didn't go in with that motherboard. I think the K8N neo2 Plat is a great motherboard.

It probably is, but for all intents and purposes it's out of date, and the best nf3 motherboard is the DFI lanparty (I have one ). As for PSU's 000, check the frikkin forums... this is a good starting point

Also, ratehr then getting two new dvd drives, just buy a recorder, and if you had two drives in your now dads computer, nab one out of there as "compensation" or something. Or just find an old cd drive. That way you'll have more money for case fans and thermal interfaces etc...l

I agree, I'm prefectly happy with my DFI nf3, but in all honesty i really doubt 000 would want "old" things for a new computer (he's rich), and neither would I, it would undermine the point of getting a new computer, and more importantly, it would limit the upgradability of the computer.

my mistake.
That's the beauty of Antecs, you pay a little more on the case but if you get one with a PSU then you won't need to switch it out.
However, sometimes you might find that with your latest hardware e.g. 6600GT etc. that the 350w might not be enough, although it is a pretty stable PSU.

For your consideration, Enermax cases come with enermax psu's. The Psu's they come with aren't however, brand name enermaxes. So yes, that will be an antec PSU, but it won;t be a true blue antec, just a run of the mill POS antec.

So, will a 6600GT get me the best graphics on Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, or should I get the x600. They reccomend ATI, but I don't think that means anything.

i think the 6600gt will do better. and really i dont think anyone should be getting an ATI pci-e card unless it's the x800 ones. the others just dont match up.
