Media Center PC Remote

I successfully got my media center pc working with live tv. Its awesome, its like having a free tivo. Except for the fact that I spent tons on the computer itself. I had to replace the motherboard on my sony pc and now when I go to use my remote that came with the computer the light on the reciever flashes (signaling that the control and reciever see eachother) but the reciver isnt sending the command to the pc. Also WIndows said "hardware is ready to use" when I plugged it in. I really need a remote. In Device Manager its labeled ehome infrarad reciever. I googled it and got some drivers but they arent working. Any ideas on how to fix this problem. Sony doesnt have a driver listed on my pcs page(i dont see how it worked before and now it doesnt, with this new mobo).

when you replaced the motherboard on the PC did you do a clean install of XP Media Center Ed. or just leave the previous build?
